Abstract

Penyakit Ginjal Kronis (PGK) merupakan salah satu masalah kesehatan global yang prevalensinya terus meningkat. Faktor penyebab utama termasuk gaya hidup tidak sehat, pola makan yang tidak seimbang, kurangnya aktivitas fisik, serta minimnya deteksi dan pemahaman dini tentang fungsi ginjal. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar tentang pentingnya menjaga kesehatan ginjal sejak usia dini serta mengenalkan peran metabolit, seperti kreatinin dan urea, sebagai indikator awal gangguan fungsi ginjal. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan bersifat edukatif dan interaktif, meliputi penyampaian materi melalui ceramah sederhana, diskusi kelompok, kuis berhadiah, serta pemanfaatan media visual seperti poster dan video animasi. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman siswa terhadap fungsi ginjal dan faktor risiko PGK. Selain itu, terjadi perubahan sikap dan perilaku siswa menuju kebiasaan hidup sehat, seperti memperbanyak konsumsi air putih, mengurangi makanan tinggi garam, serta meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya aktivitas fisik. Edukasi kesehatan yang diberikan secara menarik dan sesuai dengan usia terbukti efektif dalam menumbuhkan kesadaran preventif terhadap PGK. Intervensi sejak dini diharapkan dapat menjadi langkah strategis dalam upaya pencegahan jangka panjang penyakit ginjal di masa depan.
